Barcelona have never fully recovered from Arsenal's snatching of their two teenage sensation. The controversy that surrounded Fran Merida's departure from the Camp Nou and the fact that Cesc Fabregas is now one of the world's best midfielders, has annoyed the Spanish giants and now they look to take revenge by attempting to lure talented teenage sensation Benik Afobe from Arsenal.

The 16-year-old striker recently impressed greatly in England U-17 recent match. There, the watchful eye of the Barcelona scouts witnessed Afobe score two and assist two in the 17's 6-2 win over Kazakhstan.

Afobe is a tall, powerful striker with a fierce shot. The Englishmen is currently leading the Arsenal youth and reserve goal scoring chart with six and is no doubt a future prospect for the Gunners.

However, the Catalan side are willing to offer the teenage a £5500 weekly wage and a place in their reserve side. Afobe has the ability to become a very promising striker and Wenger will not want to see the powerful frontman depart. The Frenchmen will probably entice the youngster to stay with the possibility of Carling Cup and European football next season.

However, Afobe could be appealed by the status of Barcelona and the money factor. More new is likely to follow when the youngster returns to London.
