Los Angeles Clippers rookie C/F Blake Griffin will miss up to six weeks with a stress fracture in his left patella (kneecap).
This hurts the Clippers' depth in the front-court, which had been solid. Big man Marcus Camby is dealing with an injury of his own.
Griffin was already dealing with tendinitis in the same knee and was recently considering playing with what doctors thought was a "bone bruise."
Griffin will now miss the season opener and quite likely the entire first month, and possibly more.
Center Chris Kaman looks to pick up more minutes, with Camby also out.
Fantasy Perspective: Griffin is still a stud in fantasy (for a rookie), and if you drafted him, don't panic. Camby will share the load with Kaman when his ankle heals, and Craig Smith and DeAndre Jordan will fight over the extra minutes.
Once Griffin is back, however, it'll only be a matter of working himself back into the offense to obtain more minutes than Smith and Jordan.
