Coach Jacque Martin has stated numerous times that he would like to bring in a defensemen to move the puck for his Florida Panther club. Redden has played under Martin for 5+ years and will surely help bolster the mediocre blueline of the Florida Panthers. Redden's value has dropped significantly over the last year, but is still a reliable defensemen who can bring the puck out of the zone and lead the rush. The only problem now the Panthers have is if they don't sign Bouwmeester than the acquisition of Redden will do nothing in terms of contributing to the Panthers Defense with Bouwmeester gone. Redden and Martin have history and Florida would be a great place for Redden to retire and enjoy the rest of his career by getting out of the treacherous Ottawa sun and into the bright and sunny South Florida skies.

  1. I think the Chicago Blackhawks are a better fit for Wade. They lack a talented Veteran D-man, fit in nicely with who they already have and will still have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. Something the Panthers can't offer him, and why he used the no trade clause with Ottawa .

  2. The Blackhawks have a better chance to win the cup than the panthers? Do not get me wrong here but we are talking about a team who just like the panthers haven't been a contender in awhile and both have been in the rebuilding process. But neither has a greater chance of going to the cup more than the other. Both have key ingredients to start becoming a contender. But the hawks are in a 5 year drought and the panthers are in a 7 year drought. Redden and Martin have history and numerous reports indicate that Redden has a solid chance to be reunited with Martin in the near future.

I think Redden might be coming to Florida.

  3. Look at their roster. The nucleus is their and here what I mean. They had the best Rookie combo in Kane & Toews, add Sharp and you have a decent 1st line. Now they need to make changes on LW, Adams & Burish need to go on RW, then give Lalime a chance to start this season (he was a 30+ game winner), maybe will get Khabibulin to play better if he has to takes over, definately will need to draft a goalie in 1st round due to the ages of current ones and need to add a talented D-man. If they got Redden and paired him with Wis look out. I can see them winning a Cup, within the next couple of seasons. Now the Panthers roster is a mess, don't see them giving Wade the same chance. If he makes this move to them. Then he should have taken the San Jose trade this past year. Yeah GM Martin used to coach him is an old friend, but won't be the Coach and who knows how long he'll be their as GM. I just can't see him making this move, he stayed in Ottawa to win a Cup and wants one before he retires. He'll move onto a contender, I could be wrong about the Hawks, but heck he could end-up in Anahiem replacing Neidermeyer.

  4. Oops, forgot to add who knows after Neidermeyer.

  5. Panthers Rosters a mess?? How is that???

Dude watch your toes, you back up none of your statements with facts. You sound like a fan who just thinks his team is better than another. No way in any shape is a team like the Blackhawks better than the Cats.
If you want me to list all the solid players on the Panthers roster and prospects I can but apparently you don't look at facts Kane and Toews are great but you're making them sound like they are everything to make Chicago prosper... that's nuts.

  6. Dude, you act like the Panthers are the "Mighty Wings". I didn't use sources, I merely stated my own opinion that the Hawks would give Redden a chance at a Cup. With the nucleus thet have currently with some changes, they could win the Cup in a couple of seasons. But I talked to my sources in Chicago, they are in the Redden running, and know he wants to play on a Cup contender. Also my source in Vegas, said the odds are in favor of the Hawks winning the cup.
What I mean by the Panthers roster a mess is they trade players when they are due expensive contracts, let Roberto get away, seems like every couple of seasons getting new GM or Coach.

  7. the OK under Keenan... they just signed Martin to a long term extension. And I never said the Panthers are the " Mighty Wings" I merely said that they have a equal shot to succeed as the Hawks do. Neither team is very special. I think the Hawks could do something in a few years, so can the Panthers, so can the Lightning, anyone can turn it around is just a few years ie. the Flyers. What I am saying is that the Hawks don't have a better chance to win the cup than the panthers and for the same sake neither do the panthers. Both teams are nonplayoff teams for the last 5+ years. Both have begun to turn things around but Florida is not more attractive than Chicago and Chicago is not more attractive than Florida to Redden.

  8. Just because of GM Martin sure, but if you want a Stanley Cup. I would go to Chicago, first before I would Florida. Have heard the Canucks, Predators, Flyers, Oilers, maybe Toronto, along with The Hawks & Panthers are all going to try to sign him. Plus, if Brian Campbell resigns with the Sharks, will make Redden the top D-man available and more expensive to sign him. Now my source in Chicago told me that, we are also looking at Campbell. Mentioned that if the Sharks, lose Campbell. Don't be surprised if they don't give Redden top dollar, and a offer he could not pass up.

  9. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

  10. great article adding redden would really solidify the panthers defense and would allow for an excellent power play unit hopefully martin can bring him in

  11. Thanks bud

  12. I cant see how Chicago's roster is better than Florida's.

  13. FYI, after the draft. Panthers draft 3 defensemen out of 5 picks. Yup, Wade Redden really coming, not.
No way, Martin would be run out of town.

  14. If they could have gotten him through free agency they would have. You ask anyone. speculators thoughts Redden would be coming. Oh well. Good luck getting Redden.
