Angelina Love's first match since parting ways with TNA will be taking place on Saturday, Nov. 14 against Mercedes Martinez in Basking Ridge, N.J., at St. James Church.
At this point, there has been no talk of the former Knockouts Champion returning to TNA.
It now appears that Angelina Love's visa troubles may becoming to an end in November and thus far TNA has made no plan to resign her, but why? TNA needs to realize Angelina Love's importance to the TNA Knockout's Division.
Women's Wrestling
Throughout the years, women's wrestling has been one of the hardest things to sell to fans. While the WWE has had success, one can question the in ring ability of there Divas.
But TNA has been taking women's wrestling seriously, and not only have women wrestlers benefited from it, but so has TNA.
Angelina Love along with Velvet Sky formed The Beautiful People. Never before in a major wrestling company had two females created a faction that could rival a male one.
The fans responded. Their skits, interviews, and matches were some of TNA's iMPACT highest-rated segments.
Without Love, The Beautiful People segments have been reduced and there popularity is falling.
At Bound For Glory 2008 Fan Interaction, The Beautiful People booth line was a reported two blocks long, Angelina Love has shown she can sell women's wrestling.
Lacey Von Erich
Angelina Love's replacement in The Beautiful People, while no one can question her beauty, one can question everything else.
After signing a developmental contract WWE in 2007, she was released soon after. WWE insiders stated that Von Erich wasn't a good worker, that she was lazy and incredibly inexperienced.
TNA signed her to replace Love but soon after her debut things have gone bad. Von Erich insulted Love on her Twitter page. TNA officials where furious and made her apologize to Love.
Von Erich bad start has gotten worse, TNA had to do massive edit during taping of iMPACT after Von Erich fell flat on her face when she ran to ring to do a run-in during the Knockouts elimination match.
Later, she then reportedly told a male trainer to go and get her an ice pack and the guy ended up walking in to see a half-dressed Awesome Kong who was obviously not happy.
It was reported that Kong grabbed Von Erich and took her to the trainers room. Von Erich went to TNA management to complain but they ended up siding with Kong, Lacey Von Erich doesn't seem to be making any friends in TNA.
While Angelina Love has her critics in TNA, it's said that the character she played was basically an exaggerated version of herself and that most of the other wrestlers where sad to she her leave.
Velvet Sky
Angelina Love partner in The Beautiful People is now lost in the group with Madison Rayne And Lacey Von Erich. Before, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky were like Ric Flair and Arn Anderson: equals but Flair was the leader.
Angelina Love was the leader of The Beautiful People, but now Velvet Sky role is now undefined.
Angelina Love and Velvet Sky are friends outside of the business as well,If Love isn't resigned Velvet Sky may follow her after her contract expires.
If Angelina Love and Velvet Sky were to go to the WWE, this it would be a major lost to TNA Knockouts Division and question TNA ability to hold onto their talent.
Charisma
In wrestling, charisma plays a major role in a wrestler's success, while other wrestlers may be better athletes or have better ring skills, if they don't have charisma there chance at success is lower.
Bryan Danielson, while an incredible athlete with great ring skills, lacks charisma to communicate, while Hulk Hogan, one of the most charismatic figures in wrestling, barely knows a wristlock from a wristwatch.
Angelina Love has fair ring skills but its her charisma is what makes her a success. Her charisma makes her the perfect heel. Beautiful and arrogant, she is able to get fans irate. It makes them love to hate her and TNA needs that in a top female heel and at this time they don't have that.
The Fans
This is the most important reason to resign Angelina Love. As with any product, your customers make or break you, and if Angelina Love 's visa troubles are over in November and TNA doesn't make an effort to resign her, while it won't cause a massive upraise, you can bet Twitters and bloggers with be on a mission.
TNA let their then top female babyface Gail Kim go to WWE and has yet to find a replacement.
Angelina Love was well on her way to becoming the top female heel.
TNA has taken a new direction, taking their younger talent and giving them a must-needed push. For Angelina Love not to be a part of this change would be a mistake, just like TNA's decision to let Gail Kim go.
Final Thought
TNA is a growing company and in order to grow one must put aside personal issue and do what is right for business.
TNA needs star power. Angelina Love is a up and coming star in this business. She has proven she can sell women's wrestling and entertain fans and simply replacing her won't do.
TNA must resign Angelina Love.
