Yesterday on his radio show, "Inside the Redzone" on ESPN 980, Washington Redskins vice president of football operations Vinny Cerrato announced that embattled head coach Jim Zorn would finish out the season with the Skins.

I can only imagine he made this announcement not because players and fans have asked management for a clear answer on Zorn, but because no one else wants the job.

Defensive coordinator Greg Blache has already said that he would not want to be the interim coach and I can only guess most of the staff feels the same way.

So what does this all mean?

Personally, I don't trust a word that comes out of Cerrato's mouth.  He's a snake in a shark skin suit.  So I honestly don't think Zorn's job is safe until the end of the season.

In fact, I'm willing to bet if the Redskins are embarrassed on Monday Night Football by the Philadelphia Eagles he might be gone during the bi-week.

So, Redskins fans, there is your latest update on the soap opera that once was a reputable football franchise.

The glory years of the '80s and early '90s are so far in the rearview mirror now it doesn't look like we'll ever get back there.

Go Skins!
