Everybody loves when there team makes a deal to get a star in the NBA.

For example this season when Shaq was traded to the Cavs everyone thinks they have a legitimate chance to win in the Finals.

Trades can also help your team when you have a player who is being uncooperative or his salary is high.

Most of the trades that will be featured in the slideshow helped give his team a ring.

Lets take a look back at the five best trades of the past five years.

Celtics Acquire Kevin Garnett

Garnett was aquired by the Celtics on July 31, 2007 while the Celtics sent Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff, cash considerations, and Boston's 2009 first-round pick to the Timberwolves.

Garnett helped the Celtics right away helping the Celtics win the NBA Finals his first year on the team.

Garnett averaged 18.8 points per game with 9.2 rebounds per game his first year on the Celtics. Last year, Garnett only played in 57 games averaging 15.8 points per game with 8.5 rebounds per game.

Lakers Acquire Pau Gasol

Gasol was traded to the Lakers on Feb. 1, 2008 along with a 2010 second-round pick while the Lakers sent Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, the rights to Marc Gasol, a 2008 first-round pick and a 2010 first-round pick to the Grizzlies.

Gasol helped the Lakers big time by helping them win a championship in his second season with the team.

Last year, Gasol averaged 18.9 points per game with 9.5 rebound per game.

Nets Acquire Devin Harris

Harris was traded to the Nets on Feb. 19 , 2008 along with Keith Van Horn, Trenton Hassell, Desagna Diop, Maurice Ager, three million dollars, 2008 and 2010 first round picks while the Nets sent Jason Kidd, Malik Allen, and Antoine Wright.

Nobody expected the Nets would get the beter end of this deal when it happened but as of now Harris is a better player than Kidd.

Harris was named to his first All-Star Team last year while averaging 21.3 points per game with 6.9 rebounds per game.

Celtics Acquire Ray Allen

Allen was traded to the Celtics on June 28, 2007 along with Glen"Big Baby" Davis and the 35th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft while the Celtics sent Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak and Jeff Green to the Sonics.

Allen also helped newly aquired Kevin Garnett bring the Celtics a championship his first year on the team.

In his first year on the Celtics Allen averaged 17.4 points per game with3.7 rebounds per game. Lasy year, Allen averaged 18.2 points per game with 3.5 rebounds per game.

Cavs Acquire Shaq

Shaq was traded to the Cavs this offseason on June 25 while the Cavs sent Sasha Pavlovic, Ben Wallace, five hundred thousand dollars and a 2010 second-round pick to the Suns.

Though Shaq is an aging veteran experts expect Shaq to possibly help LeBron bring him to his first NBA championship.

Last year as a member of the Suns he averaged 17.8 points per game with 8.4 rebounds per game.
