Last night the Nets and Knicks completed their three game series.
I loved watching this game due to the fact that my two favorite teams were playing and that it was one of the last games before the regular season started.
I was wondering which team had the better players at each position. Some of these positions are very close but others not so much.
So I decided to make the NBA's All-Tri-State Area Team.
PG-Devin Harris, Nets
Harris is the obvious pick at the PG position even though Duhon had a solid year last year.
Harris was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards. Harris was later traded along with Jerry Stackhouse and Christian Laettner for Antwan Jamison.
After four years on the Mavericks Harris was traded to the Nets during the 2007-2008 NBA season.
Harris made his first All-Star Game last year. He averaged 21.3 points per game last year with almost seven assists per game.
SG-Wilson Chandler, Knicks
Chandler and Courtney Lee could be very similar players, but as of now the spot goes to Chandler.
Chandler was selected with the 23rd pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Knicks. He was been compared to such players as Scottie Pippen.
Chandler appeared in last year's Rookie Challenge. In his rookie year in the NBA he only played in 35 games with an average of 7.3 points per game.
Last year, Chandler started 70 out of the 82 games averaging 14.4 points per game with 5.4 rebounds per game.
SF-Jarvis Hayes, Nets
Hayes has more experience then Gallinari, therefore he gets the spot.
Hayes was selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards.
Hayes has been a sixth man for most of his NBA career but this year he will be starting for the Nets.
Hayes has also played for the Pistons. Last year, he averaged 8.7 points per game with 3.6 rebounds per game.
PF-Al Harrington, Knicks
Harrington may not be a star but he is much better then Yi.
Harrington was selected with the 25th pick in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Pacers. He was one of the many players at that time to come straight out of high school.
Harrington has also played for the Hawks and Warriors. He was traded to the Knicks last season for Jamal Crawford.
Harrington has some competition from teammate David Lee at the PF position but is expected to be the starter this year.
Harrington averaged 20.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Knicks last year.
C-Brook Lopez, Nets
Lopez was one of the best young players in the NBA last year while Eddy Curry hardly played. David Lee may also start for the Knicks.
Lopez was selected with the 10th overall pick in last year's draft.
Lopez finished third in Rookie of the Year voting while a member of the NBA's All-Rookie First Team.
Lopez averaged 13 points per game last year with 8.1 rebounds per game and almost two blocks per game.
