The Iowa Hawkeyes football team has never started 8-0 in the long history of the football program, and they are looking to change that as they play Michigan State in East Lansing this Saturday.

Iowa has improved a lot on winning the close games which has been tough for them past years. Coach Kirk Ferentz is doing a great job leading his guys who weren't big recruits. Their offense doesn't put up that many stats on the board, but their defense has been great this year. The defense causes turnovers, punts, and big stops. The Iowa defense motto is "Six seconds of hell." That means a play usually takes around six seconds, and the offense can't do anything against the Hawkeye defense. Iowa scores a lot of their points off turnovers.

Here is a list of Iowa's opponents they've beaten this year:

1. Northern Iowa 17-16

2. Iowa State 35-3

3. Arizona 27-17

4. Penn State 21-10

5. Arkansas State 24-21

6. Michigan 30-28

7. Wisconsin 20-10

Let's hope Iowa can beat Michigan State
