ANAHEIM, CA - OCTOBER 08: Mike Scioscia #14 manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim speaks to the umpires at the start Game One of the ALDS against the Boston Red Sox during the 2009 MLB Playoffs at Angel Stadium on October 8, 2009 in Anaheim, Calif

Have you noticed that game after the game the officiating of veteran umpires have gotten worse. Is this a sign to the MLB to expand the replay use or does the main aspect of getting the call right mean a crew meeting?
Do umpires need to start cracking down and work as a crew?
I mean why else do we put six umpires on the field in a postseason game? To make sure every call is seen and is right?
What should the teams in the postseason should expect from umpires now and in the future?

Tim McClelland

ANAHEIM, CA - OCTOBER 20: Manager Mike Scioscia of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim questions a call with the third base umpire Tim McClelland after Mike Napol #44 (Not Shown) forced Jorge Posada #20 (Not Shown) of the New York Yankees at home plate dur

Tim McClelland umpire uniform No. 36, is in the process of working his 27th season in the MLB.
Now its not often that you see him blow a call but as of game four in the ALCS his count went up two. First blowing a tag up appeal call then another call at third in which two runners were off the bag and were tagged.

Dale Scot

Dale Scot No. 5 on the umpiring list. But does his jersey number relate to the missed calls that have taken place in this ALCS?
In perfect postion during game four he still missed a pick off call in which the replay on FOX showed the Yankee runner was out by a mile.

Replay

SEATTLE - SEPTEMBER 24: Umpire Tim Welke #3 emergess from the tunnel after having reviewed a call on replay during the game between the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Seattle Mariners on September 24, 2008 at Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington. T

With so many missed calls in the 2009 postseason.
Is this a sign to the MLB office to enhance the use of replay?
As hard as it is just to see where a ball crosses the foul pole, its easier to see if a tag was made or a runner left early on the replay board.
As so in game four when at Angels Stadium of Anaheim the replay board showed the blown calls over and over with the fans reacting to the blown calls

The Future

ANAHEIM, CA - OCTOBER 20: Manager Joe Girardi of the New York Yankees talks to third base umpire Tim McClelland after the top of the forth inning in Game Four of the ALCS against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim during the 2009 MLB Playoffs at Angel Sta

With all that has happened in 2009 with blown calls does this call for more umpire training?
Especially before the postseason?
Does MLB need to train or retrain umpires on positioning, what to look for, and when to use replay and or go to the crew to ask.
Cause as we all know getting the call right no matter how you do it is the most important thing
