The Last 9 Years Jerry Jones Has Been So So As Owner Of The Cowboys

I know many of you read Andy's blog about how he thinks Jerry Jones is the best owner in the National Football League, but I am here to set the record straight and let you know that while, yes, Jerry does have some good points to him, Jerry has not always been the kind of owner who lives up to the hype.

So for 19 years Jerry Jones and his family have been the sole owners of America's Team, after buying it from H.R. Bumbright in 1989, since then the Jones family have had the pleasure of winning three Lombardi Trophies.

However the Cowboys have under gone some real rough roads the last nine years: bad drafting, salary cap issues and running three of the brightest stars right in to the ground.

But Tex," he won 3 Lombardi titles," you may say. I counter that by saying what about all the years Jerry has hurt the Cowboys by drafting players such as Shante Carver? Or who could forget Quincy Carter?

I know none of us could forget Jerry Jones giving away three first round draft picks for Joey Galloway, or hiring numerous puppet head coaches such as Chan Gailey and Dave Campo.

I know it sounds like extreme Jerry bashing, and to a point it is, but there is some good that can be said now: Jones has at least learned how to manage the salary cap, he doesn't tend to overpay players like he did in years past, and he has allowed coaches to actually run the team with out him saying anything.

So where he does rank among the leagues owners both past and present?

I'd put him about midway and no further.

    Good read, a good rebuttal.
