Smackdown Vs Raw 2010 Review, Day 1

So i went out this morning and picked up the new SVR 2010 game to check it out.  I am not a big gamer so i had to get the PS2 version which means i gave up the ability to customize wrestler attires.

Overall the games graphics have improved vastly over the previous years.  The controls are mostly the same but they updated them with only have one reversal button insteas of one for strikes and one for punches, added a behind strong grapple and made the ground grapples from three angles instead of just two.

The first thing i did was create a diving finisher.  I didnt have time to go through all the different dives but i did make a double 450 splash which looked pretty cool being performed by evan bourne.

I also checked out the road to wrestlemanie mode with Shanw Michaels.  Its much more involved than last years version, having feuds with multiple superstars througout the story line was pretty cool, and having multiple attires for more wrestlers this years adds something to the game as well.

I only unlocked some alternate outfits through his story mode so make a note that HBK doesnt unlock other superstars.  I dont know if the PS@ version has the Rock or stone cold, if someone could let me know i would appreciate it.

My biggest gripe with the game is that they still dont have an entrance for a superstar to carry two belts, you would think it would be easy but i gues its something no one else cares about.

I thought the fact that Jeff Hardy had his make up look was pretty cool and to see Matt in his new tights is just plain weird.

They have added back match interference which i am glad to see.  Also they added a new allies/enemies section where you can adjust the tension or friendship between two superstars, which increases or decreases the chances of them interfering or saving you. 

Overall i would say the game gets a 8.5/10 but as far as improvements are concerned i give it a ten. 

One last note from my first day of playing the game, i cant help but wonder why they make mark henry look so small in the game.  its almost like hes the same size as HHH when in real life hes twice the size.
