Australia are guaranteed to have a team in the final of the Twenty20 Champions league in India, as New South Wales have been drawn to meet Victoria in the Semi finals, the winner will take on either the Cape Cobras or Trinidad and Tobago in the title match.
This development will be a huge boost to the Australian squad who has struggled in Twenty20 cricket in recent times.
Indeed Ricky Ponting's men were knocked out of this year's Twenty20 World Cup in England in the 1st round, after they suffered losses to Sri Lanka and the West Indies in the group stages.
Michael Clarke said that he believes Australia initially saw Twenty20 Cricket purely as entertainment but now they make it much more of a priority as they realise that it is a very important form of the game.
Clarke was announced as Australia's new Twenty20 captain earlier this week. Ricky Ponting retired from International Twenty20 Cricket after this summer's Ashes series which Australia lost 2-1.
It is hard to see Victoria upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the title.
