Australia's newly appointed Twenty20 Captain Michael Clarke has said that he would like to take part in next year's IPL event to help him get more Twenty20 experience.

Australia have struggled in Twenty20 cricket in recent times. They suffered an embarrassing first round exit from this year's Twenty20 World Cup in England after losing to the West Indies and Sri Lanka in the group stages.

Clarke missed last year's inaugural IPL event in India because his fiancé's father was ill and this time around he opted to miss that lucrative event which was held in South Africa in order to prepare for the Ashes.

Clarke was one of Australia's best batsmen in the Ashes series, but his brilliant form was not enough to prevent Australia from surrendering the Ashes after losing the series 2-1.

Australia's next match is on Sunday as their ODI series against India gets underway. Ricky Ponting's men won the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa earlier this month beating New Zealand in the final.

It is hard to see India upsetting the Betting Odds and winning the series against Australia.
