So much for Mark Sanchez and his stellar rookie season. The youngster threw for five interceptions against Buffalo on Sunday, afterwards admitting he gave the game to the bumbling and stumbling Bills.

It’s important to remember that as well as Sanchez played in the first few weeks, he is still an NFL rookie quarterback. He is going to have his bumps in the road and this was one.

Regardless, the once loud-mouthed Jets are now losers of three straight and questions are starting to rise about the legitimacy of Sanchez.

One of the major reasons he is catching all the criticism is because running back Thomas Jones had over 200 yards rushing against the Bills. It should have opened up the passing game for Sanchez and kept the Bills reserves guessing.

The major factor is that Sanchez is not used to this cold 25 mph wind in New York City. Just like Edwards still isn’t—he is from Stanford and Sanchez from USC. What do you expect taking these West Coast QBs and placing them in the AFC East?

As for the positive Buffalo spin on this, Sanchez will always remember this five-interception game as his worst, and hopefully it plays on his mind later in the season in Toronto. As well, the loss of QB Trent Edwards should have hurt the team, but back-up Ryan Fitzpatrick managed to win.

As I have said since last year, Edwards has not been the same since suffering his first concussion in 2008 against Arizona. Maybe, this time around, it will knock the sense back into him.

I realize that the Bills' offensive line is horrible, but maybe it’s time to find a quarterback who can avoid a pass-rush and take some chances. Often Edwards is too careful and scared of throwing interceptions. It would be best for Buffalo to take its time and let Edwards recuperate if they plan on giving Edwards that franchise QB title.

Also, the hit on Edwards that caused the injury should have been a personal foul.

For the second season in a row, injuries just keep mounting for the Bills. Along with Edwards, add Whitner, Williams, Nelson, and McGee to that injury list.

As if the Bills aren’t bad enough, they have to play without several starters? The real question, though, is it just bad luck or a lack of conditioning? Or something else altogether?

Even with six interceptions, the Buffalo Bills were lucky to win the game. The defense cannot allow another rushing attack to rout them the way Thomas Jones did, gaining over 200 yards.

Fitzpatrick was anything but good, but I have no problem giving him the benefit of the doubt as I’m sure he didn’t have any snaps as a starter in the week of practice. It will be interesting to see what he can do with the talent the Bills have on offense.

Playmakers Evans, Owens, Parrish, Reed, Lynch, and Jackson just need the ball thrown to them. If they're given a little bit of space to work with the Bills can play a totally different ball game.

While, sure, they are still in it…we all know they really aren’t. I’m not asking for the end of Trent Edwards, I’m just asking that they try some different things. Really, what do the Bills have to lose?
