World No. 2 Rafael Nadal is through to the final of the Masters 1000 Event in Shanghai, the Spaniard will face Russian Nikolay Davydenko in the final. Nadal won the first set 6-1 and was 3-0 up in the second set when Lopez was forced to retire due to injury. Nadal has been in good form this week and he will be aiming to win his fourth Masters 1000 event of the year later today.

The Spaniard took the tennis world world by storm last year when he won Wimbledon and the Olympic Gold medal, he also reached World No. 1 for the first time in his career. This season however Rafa has been plagued by injuries and he will be keen to get back to winning ways in Shanghai.

Next month Rafa will compete in both the Masters Cup Final in London and the Davis Cup final in Spain. It is hard to see Davydenko upsetting the Betting Odds and beating Nadal in the final.
