UFC 217 gets its third title fight as Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her strawweight belt for the sixth time in the Octagon at Madison Square Garden on November 4.
Jedrzejczyk made the announcement via a video on the UFC on Fox Twitter account.
Standing opposite the cage will be Rose Namajunas.
Namajunas scored the title shot by upending Michelle Waterson in April. She is 4-1 in her last five outings, and now the 25-year-old gets her second shot at UFC gold.
Namajunas was a finalist for the inaugural UFC strawweight belt. Then aged just 22, she came up short against veteran Carla Esparza, whom Jedrzejczyk would unseat a few months later.
The defense will mark Jedrzejczyk's second title defense at Madison Square Garden in New York City. She defended her belt against Karolina Kowalkiewicz, who holds a win over Namajunas, in November 2016 at UFC 205.
Can Namajunas realize her athletic potential and stun the much ballyhooed dominant champion? UFC 217 sets the stage for a potential coronation of a new queen at 115 pounds, but unseating Joanna Champion is a tall task for anyone.
