The Fairfield Indians freshman football team received their first win of the season against the Sycamore Aviators, and in style.
Backed into a wall early, the Indians found themselves in a familiar position; down 8-13 in the second quarter. But this time, they'd have nothing of it.
Leading the way for the Fairfield offense was quarterback Mason Hassler and running back Jordan Davis, scoring 22 points against a stingy Aviator defense.
The Indian's defense, allowing a 70-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage, locked down and gave up only one more score to the Sycamore offense for the remainder of the game. Defensive back Ryan Waddell took charge of his squad, stealing the ball from the opposing quarterback three times, making his interception total at seven for the season.
The Fairfield freshman stand at 1-6 (1-4) for the year and look to make this win contagious against the Mason Comets on Thursday, October 22.
