After a highly impressive Under-21 World Cup campaign with Spain, Arsenal teenage superstar Fran Merida has demanded more playing time. The midfielder was a standout performer for the Spanish youngsters and is now eager to play some quality football with the Gunners.

Merida is considered to be the next Fabregas and that is a fair statement. The 19-year-old is quick, intelligent, and is blessed with a sensational passing range. Merida received limited game time last season, only really getting a chance in the League Cup. So far this season, Merida is yet to be given any real opportunity.

Lack of chances have encouraged the Spaniard to go on loan, and with a number of Spanish clubs, Seville and Atletico Madrid the most notable, eager to have the sensation in their side, Arsenal could find Merida itching for a permanent move there.

The former Barcelona youth is out of contract next season but Arsenal are keen to tie the teenager to a long term deal. However if the Spanish maestro feels he is not getting enough chances in North London he may decide to leave.

Merida will undoubtedly be huge when he comes of age and he is already showing glimpses of what he will become. Wenger either has to play him more or risk sending him out on loan.
