He was drafted as a late round flier in most fantasy drafts this summer. After a few lackluster weeks, he finds himself on the waiver wire in a vast majority of fantasy leagues.
But it finally appears that Jeremy Maclin is ready to shine for both the Eagles and fantasy owners.
After Maclin's Week Five explosion, speculation that he may be taking over as the team's No. 2 wide receiver going forward is not that far-fetched. The spot occupied by a committee of mediocrity—Kevin Curtis, Reggie Brown, Jason Avant, Hank Baskett—now rests in the hands of a first-round draft pick from Missouri.
And thanks to Donovan McNabb, Maclin will find his way back into the good graces of fantasy owners this week.
As waiver claims are being processed this morning, Maclin's ownership numbers are sure to explode. Behind Miles Austin, he may be the second-most claimed player this week.
In order to stay on fantasy rosters, Maclin will have to prove last weekend was not a fluke. The next four opponents are relatively stat-stuff friendly: at Raiders, at Redskins, vs. Giants, and at Chargers.
