I wonder how it is with other women's college basketball teams, but The Star Press treated the retaining of Lisa McDonald like the hugest scoop in the world. The story even had the "citing of anonymous sources." Seriously, can't we save that stuff for huge stories?

This is not as huge of a story as it is being made out to be. Look, I understand Lisa has been here for seven years, but people treat her like the Second Coming who was screwed over for the job. I don't see it that way one bit. She wasn't "screwed over."

Kelly Packard has a pretty solid reputation and I don't see why Packard would "fall flat on her face if she did not keep McDonald," as lovely Star Press commenter sue babe likes to tell everyone. I guess the jury will remain out.

Let's just save the anonymous sources for bigger stories, as opposed to a women's basketball team that has made the NCAA Tournament, um, never.
