This week is going to be another great one in college football. We're going to see big rivalry games and fights to make it to the top. From coast to coast we'll see the top 5 most popular games to watch this weekend. What else can I say other than that it's a great year for football and I'm glad it's here once again. Never can it come too soon.
It's going to be a busy weekend for these two teams. Two legendary coaches match up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama- Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier. Both of these coaches had extensive records even before they took jobs at Alabama and South Carolina. Nick Saban was the former coach of the LSU Tigers which they won a national championship under his coaching staff. Steve Spurrier was the former coach of the Florida Gators and brought their team much respect in the SEC as a contending team. Alabama is favored to win this game because of their impressive offense and defense. South Carolina isn't looking as hot this year and will have a tough time with this away game at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
A lot to talk about, Florida's once again number one in the BCS rankings with a perfect season so far, but for all we know they could run into some trouble in this game. Arkansas has a powerful SEC defense and could possibly win this game. Arkansas has had a decent, but not favorable season this year with losses to Georgia and Alabama. It will sure be a game to watch.
Texas Tech is looking pretty decent this year and so is Nebraska. The Huskers will battle it out against Raiders this weekend. Nebraska is a good team but Texas Tech has shown they can handle the ball with skill, but Nebraska has nothing to be ashamed of. We'll see the outcome on gameday.
The Fighting Irish take on the Trojans Saturday in one of the biggest rivalry games in college football. Charlie Weis and the Irish are going to be giving their all in this game against their big rival, USC. As we know USC lost to Washington a few weeks ago and they're still recovering. I think USC's probably going to win this game since Charlie Weis has only been able to clinch wins this season by close score from 4-6 points.
Texas as we all know is ranked third in the BCS standings. Oklahoma's going to have a tough time with the Texas defense while they're still getting used to having their Heisman quarterback throwing passes again. Oklahoma's had a rough ride this season battling Sam Bradford's shoulder injury in their first game against BYU. This might also be Texas quarterback Colt McCoy's year to win the Heisman.
