Word on the street is that Louisville running back Dale Martin, a redshirt freshman from Bolingbrook , Il. has been granted his release from the University. No idea where he could be going next though. According to Brian Bennett of the Courier-Journal, Martin is considering taking a year off to heal his injuries, then looking elsewhere from there.
Martin was one of UofL's hottest recruits in the 2007 recruiting class but some injuries slowed him down and now he's very unlikely to jump ahead of 3-4 other running backs on the depth chart. If the kid isn't happy, he should go somewhere else. The last thing we need is a repeat of the Anthony Allen saga. Best of luck to you Dale.
