Dear Ozzie Guillen,
You are a blubbering idiot that deserves to have duct tape wrapped completely around your head, blocking off that anus you call a mouth. My great grandmother would make a better manager than you, and by far a more professional one. It's time to realize that you aren't a player in the clubhouse anymore, and grow up, show some class, watch what you say to the media, and quit crying like a little baby. Oh, and quit kissing your players. That's just creepy.
Sincerely,
Tyler
There, now that that is out of the way. Is anyone else getting sick of the actions of this guy? The Chicago White Sox are by far the team I dislike the most, since I'm a lifetime northside-loving Chicago Cubs fan. But even I feel sorry that White Sox fans have to put up with this idiot.
His latest rant on ESPN, and every other major sports publication, was just another tirade by a man that can't think of anything constructive to say, other than crying and streaming profanity. My mom raised me to never complain unless you have a constructive way of solving the problem.
Ozzie's latest rant was about not wanting to "protect anyone" anymore. He threw the GM and several players under the bus. Here's my opinion: If you are going to try and take shots at the guy that writes your paychecks, you better do so with some constructive advice on how to improve the situation.
Try it at work sometime (if you get fired, sorry). Go up to your boss, scream at him and tell him how bad he sucks at his job, and that he isn't putting you in a position to succeed, and then finish it by saying what has become Ozzie's new catch phrase: "Fu** It." I'll bet you are told to clean out your desk within five minutes.
What I'm trying to say is that it's time for Ozzie Guillen to be let go. Any success of his World Series team a few years back had NOTHING to do with him. The White Sox won because that was one of the best pitching staffs in the last 20 years in the World Series.
He hasn't done anything positive in the last few years, and in all honesty, with the talent he has, his team should be far better than it is this year and WAY better than it finished last year. Last year's record was a sign of a team quitting on a manager, or vice versa.
So, to sum things up:
1. I am a HUGE Cubs fan. So, my team will do our part in getting rid of this blubbering idiot. We will sweep the White Sox this year. We'll win all three at home and all three in hell, I mean the Southside. I'll be there to watch all three at Wrigley. Hope you all join me.
2. Ozzie has to go. I love that he is the cancer plaguing the team I dislike the most, but I can't take hearing this guy on TV anymore. Him being the manager is like having a mentally challenged kid with tourettes and a short temper in a spelling bee. It's bound to do nothing but bad things, but also would be slightly comical.
I'm curious to hear what others think of the "Ozz." I hope that everyone agrees that baseball has no place for this idiot.
Go Cubs!

I totally agree... Not only has he insulted his players and superiors, but he insulted what little fans the Sox have. I've said it many times, and I'll say it again, Ozzie Guillen is everything that is wrong with major league baseball.

agreed 100% i couldn't have said it any better. Ozzie needs to do the game a favor and leave

Yeah, managers that can't control themselves should be banned from baseball. I mean, what's next, picking up a base and throwing during a temper tantrum? What if the manager decided to kick dirt on an umpire? Unacceptable! Ban them for life!
I understand your point, but it's dangerous for you to make it when the manager of your team is by no means a saint. Sometimes the source can ruin the message.

I am 100% for a manager throwing a fit on the field if it is in defense of a player or to argue a bad call. This is part of managing. Look at the run the Cubs had last year after Lou did the actions you describe. I'd say it was great management.
But I have never seen another manager so consistently throw out F bombs, call out players and management, and all in all just look like an uneducated idiot on television than Ozzie. That's why he has to go. I have no problem if he goes out on the field and argues a call. Its what he does after games that makes him have to leave.

I still don't see how Lou's hissy-fits are different from Ozzie's. How do we know that Ozzie isn't motivating his team through his actions? They are in first place, their offense did come alive last night with four HRs, and they have won a World Series in the last four years. His actions may rub you, and apparently a lot of Cubs fans, the wrong way, but Piniella's actions don't sit well with many people outside of Wrigley.

Also, If you are going to accuse Lou of being innappropriate and throwing fits on the field, its just an act. He's been on Auquafina lately.

Tyler, this is masterful work and I applaud you for taking Guillen down. He is so annoying in everything he does and he is honestly disgusting in the way he presents himself. We don't need to hear him swear 50 times a day about his lineup and his pitching staff and his coaches. Nice job Tyler and feel free to rip anyone else in that entire organization!

What does Lou do that rubs people the wrong way? That was an interesting point and I want to hear an opinion of someone other than a Cubs fan. All I see him do is what EVERY manager should do, which is argue calls. Granted, kicking dirt is a bit retarded but he was in the heat of the moment. If it were Ozzie he would have just went out there and said a 10 word sentence (the ump wouldn't understand any of it due to his very heavy accent) and 6 of the words would have been four letter cuss words.
The difference: Lou argues a call in what has historically been a way of arguing a call: In your face and defensive. See highlights of old time baseball. He NEVER throws management or players under the bus. He doesn't say "Jim Hendry is a piece of sh**."

ONe more thing: How about hiring Bob Brenley as the new Whitesox manager? Ha! I like that guy. Hate to lose him as an announcer though, although it would open a spot up for me!

No! Minnesota gets Brenley as soon as we can fire Gardy.

I grew up in the Metro-St. Louis area, so everyone that I know that follows baseball is a Cardinals fan, and I can't think of a single one of them that doesn't hate Lou Piniella with a passion. They think he's an overrated hack that can't control his team down the stretch or in the postseason. (Side note here: I am not affiliated with any MLB team, I follow the sport as an outside observer.)
Now you could say, "Of course St. Louis fans are going to hate Piniella, he's the Cubs' manager." But then surely you can see how the same is applied to your hatred of Ozzie, "he's the White Sox's manager." While Ozzie's methods don't strike you as proper, at the end of the day, they're effective. They win.
Just because every other manager in the history of the game has chosen to kick dirt and argue face-to-face with an ump to motivate his team, doesn't mean that that is the only course of action a manager can take.
Ozzie's tactics have been just as, if not more so, effective than EVERY other manager. His team responds to him, and, I really just can't emphasize this enough, they win. It just takes different strokes for different folks.

And why are you looking for a new manager? Ozzie has a contract through the next four years, an owner that's an ardent supporter of him, and his team is in first place in their division. People always let Manny Be Manny, why can't we just let Ozzie Be Ozzie?

His contract will get cancelled soon. He just threw his biggest supporter, the general manager, under the bus by saying he isn't doing a good job.

This is an interesting article, but as Ryan pointed out, Lou Piniella was known as the "crazy" manager in MLB for similar fits/rants that Ozzie has been displaying. Only recently (perhaps managing a horrid Devil Rays team will put things in perspective), has Piniella mellowed out.
That being said, what I think Guillen lacks in comparison to Lou Piniella is a genuine leadership quality. What I didn't like about this rant was that, while something definitely needed to be said, Ozzie let it all out through the media and didn't keep it in the locker room.
It's too bad really, because Guillen tends to have smart ideas, he just delivers those ideas with the tact of a seven year old that just learned about curse words. Kenny Williams has even said something to that effect.
Personally, I never thought he should've had such a lengthy extension handed to him, but as long as the Sox are winning, the Sox brass will continue to put up with his mess.

The person Ozzie is kissing in your picture is his son, not a player.

well that's just about as messed up. let me guess: His wife breast fed him till he was 8 too, right?

Well I guess showing affection towards your son is a horrible thing...and makes you a bad manager. Grow up.

Wow Collin. Take a poll of 30 guys with a son over the age of 16. Ask if they kiss their kid on the lips. At least fans in Seattle never have to worry about Ozzie coaching their team. They won't let two lesbians kiss, they certainly aren't going to go for Ozzie making out with his son.

I can't believe you're actually arguing that Ozzie is a horrible person, or a horrible manager, or whatever it is that you're actually trying to argue, all because he kisses his sons. You're a complete and total idiot and a disgrace to journalism.

in my defense, you are the only one calling other writers names. cry me a river collin. if you are sad because your daddy won't kiss you on your lips, call him, not me.
I'm arguing that Ozzie is a terrible person to have as the coach of a MLB team. No professionalism, no class, and all in all is just a bad person to have leading a team. Be honest, you know it isn't him that won that world series that White Sox fans love bragging about. It was his superstar pitching staff led by a Mark Buehrle in his prime.
