OK I know this isn't breaking news but the Raiders have had an awful 2009. The fact that this isn't all that surprising is also sad. This is the NFL, a league that has been set up through free agency, the salary cap and the draft to be the most fair league as possible. The parody in the NFL is unrivaled.

Somehow the Raiders have managed to make one bad decision after another. Poor draft picks and poor free agent signings have set this team back for the foreseeable future. Instead of breaking down the entire history of Al Davis's recent stupidity lets just look at his head coach Tom Cable.

Four games into the 2008 season Cable took over, but on February 4th he was officially named head coach. Cable's head coaching history started at the University of Idaho where he led the Vandals to a 11-35 record in four years, he was then fired.

He followed that up by being the UCLA offensive coordinator for two seasons then he got fired.

He parleyed that job into a job coaching the offensive line with the Atlanta Falcons. He was fired after one season. After being fired three consecutive times the Raiders hired him to coach their offensive line.

In one season and four games he was the Raiders head coach and he hasn't looked back sense. Well except for his 5-12 record as head coach and that little instance where he allegedly punched former Raiders assistant coach Randy Hanson in the face and fractured his jaw. The police are looking into it. Look at the bright side Raider fans if he goes to jail he can do you some recruiting, Plaxico Burress might be eligible in a few years.
