The Michigan Wolverines lost their second game in a row last night to the 12th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, 30-28, in Iowa City dropping Michigan's record to 4-2.

Turnovers were the biggest downfall for Michigan, with five in total that killed sustaining drives.

It began well for the Maize and Blue on the first play from scrimmage. Hawkeyes junior quarterback Ricky Stanzi threw an ill-advised pass in the direction of converted linebacker Brandon Moore, who then intercepted Stanzi's pass and took the ball 40 yards to pay dirt for an early 7-0 lead.

The Hawkeyes responded with a touchdown of their own with a 35-yard touchdown pass to Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki, which deadlocked the game at seven.

In the fourth quarter, things got interesting.

Halfway through the fourth, Rich Rodriguez ripped into freshman Tate Forcier, for reasons unknown, and decided to bench him in favor of speedy second string freshman quarterback  Denard Robinson.

On the preceding drive, Robinson lead the Wolverines on a 11 play, 60-yard touchdown drive capped off, fittingly by who else, Denard Robinson. He rushed for a three yard touchdown that cut Iowa's lead to only two points.

The Michigan defense forced Iowa's offense to a three and out, which gave the Wolverines one last chance to steal a victory.

Unfortunately, Robinson hesitated while in the pocket and threw the game-ending interception.

People will probably second guess Rich Rod's decision to allow Denard Robinson to lead the possible game-winning drive, even though Tate Forcier has proven that he can lead a comeback (just ask Notre Dame and Indiana).

But Forcier's confidence was lower than his 94 passing yards so what else should Rodriguez have done?

Please, Michigan fans. Don't call for Rich Rod's firing. They lost to a superior team and it isn't going to get any easier when they face Penn State and Ohio State.
