Greg Logan reported in Newsday late this afternoon that New York Islander’s goaltender Rick DiPietro had minor knee surgery on his meniscus, Tuesday in Colorado.

The latest procedure is not expected to interfere with the goaltender's rehabilitation from his hip surgery and he is expected to be a hundred percent before the opening of training. The club took a pro-active approach, because the situation was an intermittent problem.

Logan speculates the surgery is on the same left knee he sprained during warm-ups before a home game against Toronto on Dec. 26.
