With the closer situation still in limbo in Philly and Phillies' fans sure to hold their breath at the sites of Brad Lidge or Ryan Madson to close a game, the answer already exists.

Pedro Martinez who is fresh, has his velocity back in the low 90's, plenty of postseason experience and most importantly knows how to pitch is a perfect solution to close games for the Phillies.

Martinez would instill new life immediately into the team and give the team, manager Charlie Manuel and the Phillies' faithful, plenty of confidence late in games.  And with an uncharacteristically deep rotation that consists of four solid starters in Cliff Lee, Cole Hamels, Joe Blanton, and J.A. Happ, it makes the decision that much easier.

Hopefully for city of Philadelphia and their fans, they realize this sooner than later.
