The New York Yankees are the American League East Division champions and finished the regular season with 103 wins. Since the Twins and Tigers are tied with the best record in the American League Central Division, and only one of them can go to the playoffs, they will play a one-game playoff on Tuesday, and the winner will play the Yankees.
