The Tigers managed to blow their lead atop the AL Central by losing two out of three to the Ozzie Guillen-led Chicago White Sox.

Now the Tigers have to travel to Minnesota for a one-game playoff that will determine the AL Central champion. The Tigers had a seven-game lead over those pesky Twins at one point.

Wolverines

If you’re a Wolverines fan, like I am, then you really must be disappointed about Michigan's ill-fated 26-21 defeat to those damn Spartans after an exhilarating 14-point comeback. But if you're a Spartans fan, well, I hate you! OK, maybe not.

Red Wings

The Wings lost their second game in a row to the St. Louis Blues, 4-3, in Sweden. As many Swedes that Detroit currently have on their roster, you'd think some home cooking would be helpful; I guess not.

Lions

Last but not least, the one-win Detroit Lions remain the one-win Detroit Lions, with a 48-24 loss to the Bears.

I thought Matthew Stafford played very well in the "Spaceship" (Soldier Field), except for throwing an interception and fumbling the ball away.

In the forth quarter, Stafford was sacked excessively by Bears dirty linebacker Nick Roach, injuring the rookie's knee. A fine may be in order.

Stafford: 24/36, 296 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT, 1 FUM. Not bad.

It's OK

Don't concern yourself too much: The Lions usually lose, the Wings are the Wings, Michigan's still 4-1, and the Tigers have one more chance to win the Central.
