What a historical homerun it was for Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez on May 31, 2008.

He is the 24th person and the last since Jim Thome and Frank Thomas (both in 2007) to join the 500 Homerun Club.

Ramirez hit his 500th off the first pitch of the night from Baltimore Oriole pitcher, Chad Bradford in the seventh inning of a 6-3 game that the Red Sox won.

David Ortiz and Dustin Pedoria both hit their homeruns during the third inning of the game off pitcher Garrett Olson.

The next day, Ramirez hit his career 501st run off pitcher Brian Burres. Boston would also win that game 9-4.

These two teams meet on Monday to finish out the series, which the Red Sox lead 3-0. Tim Wakefield (3-4) will face Jeremy Guthrie (2-6) to close out the series. The game will start at 7:05PM (ET)
