Golf House: New Jersey's Mecca of Golf

Golf fans who live in or visit "The Garden State" should include on their itinerary a visit to Golf House, Far Hills, N.J., the headquarters of The United States Golf Association.

Every true golf fan will find something of interest in this magnificent building. Although it's a wee bit out of the way, nevertheless it's well worth the effort.

Artifacts contributed by leading amateurs and professionals from every corner of the world are on display in the museum (presently closed for renovation). One section is devoted entirely to Ben Hogan, known to many Scots as "the wee ice mon."

The extensive library can take hours for perusal; therefore, a visit may take up to a full day.

Another feature is the USGA's mechanical golf-ball testing machine. It is named "Iron Byron" and calibrated to copy the "perfect" swing of Byron Nelson.

Completing the visit is the superb welcome accorded by all who work at Golf House.

NOT TO BE MISSED!
