The Middletown Middies (5-0, 2-0) average 47.4 points a game, 395.6 offensive yards a game and have found the end-zone 28 times, including a 61-24 blowout over Mason last week.
That's 10 more points than Fairfield (3-2, 2-0) has scored all season.
The Indians will travel to Barnitz Stadium tomorrow, Oct. 2 to face what could be their toughest opponent yet. They roll in on a high note, coming off of a two-game win streak that includes last week's 10-7 Homecoming victory over Oak Hills.
Fairfield has won more games this season than they have in the past three combined, but average a mere 10.2 points a game. If they want to beat a high-powered Middies football team, they'll most likely need to triple that statistic.
To win this ballgame, the Fairfield defense will have to keep doing what they've been doing; allowing just 15.4 points per game. They will need to contain and pressure the Greater Miami Conference's leading passer and Bowling Green State Univeristy's verbal committee, Caleb Watkins, and force him into some rare bad decisions. As for the offense, Justin McCray will need to construct long, consistent drives to keep that Middie offense off the field. Scoring more than ten points will most likely be needed, as well as having more than 84 total offensive yards (what they had versus Oak Hills).
