The lights will once again be shining brightly over Fairfield Stadium tonight. Its Friday, September 25; Homecoming for the Indians(2-2). They will be taking on Greater Miami Conference rivals, the Oak Hills Highlanders(3-1), in a rainy atmosphere.
Both teams are coming off close wins; Fairfield defeating Princeton 17-14 and Oak Hills over Mason 13-10. This means somebody will be getting their second conference win this week, something neither team accomplished all of last year.
Expect a defensive struggle. Both offenses are having a hard time putting points on the board, with Fairfield at 10.3 points per game and Oak Hills at 19.
Both defenses have been the foundations to success. Top this off by mixing heavy rain with natural grass and you've got what could be a single-score game.
Fairfield needs a few good punts, some great athleticism from the defense and to play Tressel-ball. Field position will be a deciding factor in this game, and one perfect drive could sustain a 3-2 record for the Indians; something they haven't achieved since 2005.
