Espn is reporting that New Orleans pro bowl tackle Jamal Brown has been moved to injured reserve with a hip/hernia injury that he has been battling since training camp.

Normally when a team loses a pro bowler they feel it. New Orleans can’t even tell that he is missing. They have had over 100 yards rushing the past three games. Brees has had plenty of time passing the ball.

This past weekend against the Bills, the Saints had a third string tackle in on the game. The team rushed for over 200 yards. Reggie bush even had over 50 yards rushing. Also each of the running backs who carried the ball averaged over 4.5 yards a carry without having the pro bowl tackle in the game.

Now of course it’s nice to see that we have depth at this roster spot. That’s also why they went ahead and placed him on IR, to free a roster spot to replace the depth at that spot.

Jamal brown will be back next season and ready to go. Question is will the Saints still need his services.
