During his post fight press conference, Vitali Klitschko stated that experience is the most important part of any job.  Despite a small stitched up cut on his right eyebrow, he still looked fresh.  Arreola on the other hand, came in with a fat lip, swollen nose and watery eyes.  When asked about the experience playing role in this fight, Arreola said “It wasn’t my inexperience; it was just Vitali’s experience.” So both fighters agreed on one concept: total time spent in the ring is crucial to being a champion.

During the fighter’s entrances into the ring, it was not hard to notice the Mexican presence in the arena. Staples Center roared as Arreola entered the ring. The vibrations of the volume from the fans were tremendous. When Vitali appeared, there was definitely some excitement: Ukrainian flags, and clusters of fans scattered in the arena, but it was incomparable to the welcome that Arreola received minutes ago.

Vitali’s reach and ability to bend back to avoid punches was something that Arreola was unable to overcome. Chris was always coming forward, but Vitali was moving back and jabbing to stop Arreola in his tracks. There was something else that I noticed during the fight, which was later confirmed by Klitschko at the post fight press conference: Vitali’s main strategy was to use angles and sidestep as much as possible.  A couple of weeks before the fight, Vitali said that he had a plan A,B, and C. If sidestepping and giving Arreola angles throughout the fight was plan A, then he never neede
