The Syracuse Orange squeaked out a 63-60 victory over the Gonzaga Bulldogs on Friday night to book a trip to the Elite 8.
Syracuse alums were beaming with pride after the game, including New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, who led the then-Orangemen to their first and only NCAA championship back in 2003.
Anthony's wife, La La, filmed Melo's postgame celebration, which featured him yelling a DJ Khaled quote at the television. Once an Orangeman, always an Orangeman—even if the team has tweaked its nickname since Anthony jumped to the NBA.
Syracuse has won three tournament games this March, but the journey to another championship is far from over. Now, the competition gets even tougher. But given everything the team has overcome to get to this point, perhaps it will cut down the nets just like Anthony did 13 years ago.
