Well that was a real nail biter. I think it's safe to say Michigan's going to be in many, many shoot-outs this season. Our defense has some serious work to do if we hope to survive on the road against the likes of MSU, Iowa, and Wisconsin, where the home field advantage will add some pressure to our newly rediscovered but still young offense. If we don't improve defensively, close road games are not likely to swing our way.
Unfortunately, none of our readers correctly predicted last weekend's game due in large part to the fact that the lowest category had Michigan by 10. Lesson learned. With this defense, anything's possible. Anything.
Rich Rodriguez has said repeatedly he wants to be in a place where we could play badly and still win. That happened Saturday, but I'm not convinced we're even close to where we need to be.
