The three most popular football games have all been nominated for Best Sports Game at the 2016 BAFTAs, but they've all been beaten by a less recognisable face for a Best Game nod.

FIFA 16Football Manager and PES 2016 all get their names put in the hat in the Best Sports Game category, but the presence of Rocket League in the Best Game category suggests they're set to lose.

The vehicle-based football game, Forza Motosport 6 and DiRT Rally are the others on the list, but only Rocket League is named alongside Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Fallout 4Life Is StrangeMetal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for the top prize.

It's certainly not news that's going to please the FIFA purists.
