New Georgia head coach Kirby Smart is far from done stealing recruits from his former employer.
Per Mansell, Fromm recently visited Athens and said he loved "the whole deal" at Georgia. He also mentioned a connection with offensive coordinator Jim Chaney, the offensive coordinator at Purdue when now-NFL star Drew Brees was under center.
"What a great teacher he is," Fromm said. "The guy is a football genius, literally on that side of the ball. If there is any chance for me to play in the NFL one day, I feel like this guy can give me that chance to have a NFL-type education and something I can take on with me."
Bleacher Report's Tyler Donohue noted Fromm's 2015 tape showed impressive mechanics and accuracy:
Fromm is listed as the No. 4 pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.
Now, the competition for playing time will be immensely difficult at Georgia. Jacob Eason, the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class, enrolled early and may secure the starting job as a true freshman.
However, it wouldn't necessarily have been any easier at Alabama. Redshirt freshman Blake Barnett could earn the starting nod over Cooper Bateman and others this season.
But that's another year down the road. In the meantime, Fromm will continue building on impressive numbers at Houston County High School.

Fromm is also slated to participate in the 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
He becomes the second-highest-rated commit in Georgia's class behind 5-star safety Richard LeCounte III. Fromm joins a pair of outside linebackers—Jaden Hunter and Breon Dixon—as the other 4-stars in Georgia's haul.
