Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan in the summer.
According to Moritz Leihkamm of German outlet Bild (h/t Metro's Max Miller), the Gunners are keen to snap him up. Though he has been linked heavily with a move to Manchester City, he told Leihkamm "there is actually nothing to report" in regard to his future.
Per ESPN FC's Stefan Buczko, BVB manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed the club are trying to tie down the Germany international but thus far have been unable to do so:
Tuchel: "I'd like to tell you that Ilkay extended until 2026 - unfortunately that's not the case, but talks are being held." #BVBH96— Stefan Buczko (@bvbawesome) February 12, 2016
Tuchel: "The interest is in Gündogan is great, which is why the talks aren't going easy." #BVBH96— Stefan Buczko (@bvbawesome) February 12, 2016
The Gunners have plenty of talent in central midfield but also players who they could do with moving on, including Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky. Gundogan would be a real star signing for any Premier League side.
The 25-year-old has stood out in the Bundesliga thanks to his majestic passing, impressive control, dribbling and excellent all-round midfield play, as the video below demonstrates:
According to Squawka, in 21 Bundesliga outings this season the midfielder has completed 47 take-ons, made 43 interceptions and maintained a passing accuracy of 88 per cent.
He has also found the net three times in all competitions and provided seven assists for his team-mates.
Buczko hailed his performance in February's DFB-Pokal win over Stuttgart and noted he has produced similarly excellent showings on a number of occasions this season:

If Gundogan does depart Dortmund this summer he's sure to have plenty of suitors that Arsenal will have to compete with.
The German would fit in well at the Emirates Stadium, though, so if Arsenal do look to improve their midfield this summer they should make his capture a priority.
Will Arsenal need to lower their price to sell Szczesny this summer?
The Pole is spending the season on loan at Roma, but the Gunners want him off their books permanently, and they are hoping to get £11.6 million for the stopper.
Szczesny has little future at Arsenal after being replaced by Petr Cech and David Ospina, so the club are wise to cash in on him.
The 25-year-old has had a mixed time in the Italian capital and questions remain over his professionalism after he was reportedly caught smoking on multiple occasions last year, so Arsenal may struggle to get the price they seek.
