No. 8 Michigan State 88, Indiana 69
It was only fitting the star of the game on February 14 was Denzel Valentine of the Michigan State Spartans.
The guard, who hit a game-winner against the Ohio State Buckeyes 365 days ago, recorded 30 points and a career high of 13 assists in the Spartans' blowout win over the Indiana Hoosiers.
Indiana started hot from the field in a fast-paced first half, but the Hoosiers were unable to keep up with the Spartans once the second half began. Michigan State opened up the second half with an 11-0 run. During that stretch, Indiana suffered through a field-goal drought of over four minutes.
The Spartans continued to pile on the points for the rest of the second half as Valentine and Matt Costello thrived in all aspects of the game for the hosts.
Costello recorded a career-high 22 points and added 11 rebounds to the cause for the Spartans, who have an easy schedule for the rest of the Big Ten regular season.
Four Hoosiers found their way into double digits in the scoring column, but the team as a whole shot 37.7 percent and they only made 10 field goals in the second half.
