Finally Got to Meet The Phranchise

I went to a Phil Hughes autograph signing at the Roosevelt Field Mall a few weeks ago in Gardent City, NY. It took place at the Steiner Sports Store.

Many of you are well aware of my Phil Hughes encounter. For those who don’t know about it: The day I ran into Phil Hughes on a baseball card message board.. This was the first opportunity I had to meet him, so it was pretty cool.

He remembered sending me all that free stuff back on the Beckett Message Boards. He asked me how everything was going. Phil gladly signed all my stuff. I shook hands with the guy and said it was a pleasure meeting him. How many fans can say that they traded baseball cards and got to meet their favorite player?

Tons of fans showed up to meet him. The line was literally out the door. I wound up waiting on line for over two hours to meet him, but I thought it was well worth it. I got a NY York Yankees Road Jersey signed, a signed 16X20 photo, and he signed the Beckett Baseball article.

The photo didn’t come out very good, but it’s still something I will never forget.
