No. 19 Louisville 71, No. 2 North Carolina 65

The No. 19 Louisville Cardinals (18-4, 7-2 ACC) ended the nation's second-longest winning streak as they downed the No. 2 North Carolina Tar Heels (19-3, 8-1) at the KFC Yum! Center on Monday night.

The victory came two days after the Cardinals suffered a rough home defeat to the Virginia Cavaliers on their home court. Louisville's win was its seventh over a team in the AP Top 2 since the start of the 2001-02 season. Maryland is the only program with more victories in that span, per ESPN Stats & Info

A tough first half for both teams led to a fast-paced second half that saw Louisville remain ahead for the final 12 minutes.

The Cardinals failed to put the Tar Heels, who entered the game with a 12-game winning streak, away throughout the second half due to Chinanu Onuaku's foul trouble, but they made enough shots on the other end of the floor to keep North Carolina away.

North Carolina was riddled by bad shooting as it went 20-of-58 from the field and 3-of-17 from three-point range. Star guard Marcus Paige only had nine points on 3-of-13 shooting.

Damion Lee was the star of the night for Louisville, as he led all scorers with 24 points. Onuaku sealed the victory with his 10th rebound. The big man had 12 points to go along with his 10 boards.

Justin Jackson led the Tar Heels with 16 points, while Brice Johnson added 15.
