There will be a rubber match for the United States Championship at the Royal Rumble.
WWE announced before Monday Night Raw went on the air that Alberto Del Rio will defend his championship on Sunday at the Royal Rumble against Kalisto.
Kalisto upset Del Rio on the Jan. 11 edition of Raw to win his first single's title. Del Rio, with the help of Wade Barrett, reclaimed the gold on this past week's edition of SmackDown.
Having Kalisto drop the title to Del Rio on SmackDown last week was a questionable move to say the least. In last week's match on Raw, Kalisto and Del Rio put on an exciting match that would be worthy of a main event to close the night.
However, not only was Del Rio given the title back three days later, but he also had help from outside interference to get it back. In turn, that makes fans wonder why that wasn't the case on Monday.
NoDQ.com posted a poll on Twitter to ask if it was the right decision to give Del Rio the title back so quickly, and the results were staggering:
Either way, fans have been treated to entertaining contests this past week and will be eager to see what will happen at the Royal Rumble. Kalisto has proved he can be a worthy high-flyer who can put on spectacular moments that get the crowd going.
The right move would be to put the belt back on Kalisto after Sunday and have Del Rio participate in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Royal Rumble match later that night just as a throw-in.
