Will Johnson Injury: Updates on Steelers FB's Hamstring and Return

Pittsburgh Steelers fullback Will Johnson suffered a hamstring injury against the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 9 in the Wild Card Round. It is unclear when he will be ready to return.

Bob Labriola of Steelers Digest announced Johnson was inactive for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Johnson was limited all week, according to Jesse Palmer of NFL Network.

Johnson's Injury Another Setback for Steelers Backfield

Johnson, who has been splitting practice time between fullback and tight end, said before the Wild Card game he thought he may have an increased role in the backfield with the Steelers down to their third-string running back, Fitzgerald Toussaint, per Jacob Klinger of PennLive.com.

However, he did not get much of a chance after suffering the injury early. The Steelers will have to dig deep into the playbook to overcome the injuries that have plagued their backfield.
