Days after getting suspended by the NBA for two games due to his role in an altercation with New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher, Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes discussed the incident in an Instagram post.
The 35-year-old veteran made mention of several trials and tribulations he faced in 2015 with a special emphasis on the situation involving Fisher:
Last BUT NOT LEAST... Being stuck in the "triangle offense" w my ex & snitch, I mean former teammate & friend.. Who went behind my back, messed w my ex, got caught, got dealt w for being a snake, then ran & told the Police & NBA.. Instead of taken that ass whoopin like a man & kept it moving....!
WHERE THEY DO THAT AT?
Guess cause I didn't SNITCH, I get a 2 game suspension by the league "They call that LIFE"
According to ESPN.com, Barnes' suspension was handed down on Dec. 28, nearly three months after he got into a fight with Fisher at the Los Angeles home of Barnes' ex-wife.
Barnes is clearly still miffed about the situation, which Fisher received no disciplinary action for, but he insists he is ready to move on to 2016.
The Grizzlies and Knicks will meet in Memphis on Jan. 16, and while one can only assume professionalism will rule the day for Barnes and Fisher, there is no question the game will carry some extra intrigue due to their personal issues.
