Ah, the sweet smell of fresh ice being shredded by the best hockey players in the world. You know what can make that better? Playing daily fantasy hockey on DraftKings to cash in on some of the action.

Luckily for you, we're feeling giving during this time of year, so we'll share the secret behind our choices for Tuesday night's matchups. Prior to locking up your lineups, make sure these players are targeted for the December 22 rosters.

Center: Jeff Carter, Los Angeles Kings ($6,400)

Jeff Carter might have cooled off from his hot start at the beginning of December, but he's finally home. Coming off a six-game road trip, Carter returns to Los Angeles on Tuesday. Oh, and he's riding a six-game scoring streak in the Staples Center with five assists and a goal.

During his last four at home, Carter averaged four fantasy points on DraftKings. Facing off with a San Jose Sharks team that has allowed at least four goals in seven of its last 10 games, expect Carter to get back on the scoring sheet for DFS owners.

Winger: Johnny Gaudreau, Calgary Flames ($6,500)

Over the last three weeks, Johnny Gaudreau has made my job incredibly easy. The Calgary Flames' first-line winger has either a point or five-plus shots on goal in eight of his last nine games. That's averaged out to a 5.1-point average over that span with seven goals and six assists.

You want to hear something crazy? The last four games have been on the road, where Gaudreau averages a measly 2.6 fantasy points on the season.

On Tuesday night, he'll finally get to shine in Calgary yet again. Tallying 5.3 points on DraftKings per night at home, expect another huge outing from Gaudreau. He did score two goals and an assist in his last home outing, after all.

Defenseman: Mark Giordano, Calgary Flames ($5,800)

Similar to his top-line teammate Gaudreau, Mark Giordano is lighting opposing teams up in December. Over his last four games, Giordano averaged five fantasy points per game. Another similarity with Gaudreau, Giordano has higher fantasy production at home.

Even if he doesn't tally a point, Giordano is collecting blocked shots and SOG at a high clip. Going up against a Winnipeg Jets team that has been putrid against defensemen, ranking 23rd against the position, the Jets should get trounced by Giordano when he shares the ice with Gaudreau.

Goalie: Ben Bishop, Tampa Bay Lightning ($7,400)

The 2015-16 season has been a roller-coaster ride for Ben Bishop thus far, but he's due for another solid outing on Tuesday. At 14-10-2, Bishop now gets a treat against a Vancouver Canucks team that ranks 21st in goals scored per game (2.5) on the season.

Coming off a solid outing against the Ottawa Senators in which he tallied 5.6 fantasy points, Bishop should be in line for another win. Given the fact that the Canucks have lost four of five games during the current road trip, expect Bishop to put up huge points on DraftKings.
