Tony Romo threw three interceptions—two of which returned for a touchdown—before re-injuring his clavicle in a 33-14 Carolina Panthers win over the Dallas Cowboys.
There was a lot of hype heading into this Thanksgiving battle with the undefeated Panthers facing a tough challenge on the road. While Carolina played to its ability, the Cowboys fell behind early and never was really in contention. Romo threw for just 106 passing yards with no touchdowns and three picks before going down in the third quarter. Dez Bryant had just two catches for 26 yards while being mostly shadowed by Josh Norman.
On the other side of the ball, the Panthers had just one offensive touchdown but controlled the tempo and did just enough to win. Cam Newton had 183 passing yards, 45 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in the victory while Jonathan Stewart added 68 yards on 21 carries.
Luke Kuechly might have been the star of the day with seven tackles, two passes defended, two interceptions and one touchdown, helping the Panthers improve to 11-0 on the year.
Dallas now falls to 3-8 on the year and the team is now a huge long shot to make the playoffs, even in the weak NFC East.
