Kevin Millwood Reaches 180IP

Well, it looks like Millwood just got his guaranteed contract at 12 million for next year. He went seven innings tonight against Oakland. I don’t care if he pitches like this for the rest of the year or even next year. He’s not worth 12 million dollars. Check this for why.

As far as the controversy surrounding his delayed start is concerned I’m really on the fence. On the one hand it is bad business to prevent a guy from playing because of money issues. On the other hand do you want a guy around who is clearly not worth the money? It doesn’t matter now.

The Texas Rangers are stuck with Millwood for another year at 12 million dollars. I would love to get him off this team, but it’s very unlikely with his contract and talent level.
