Sir Alex Ferguson is delaying his summer holiday plans in order to fly to Geneva, Switzerland in order to hold a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese starlet has been constantly linked with a move to Real Madrid and Ferguson will do everything possible to keep his prized asset at Old Trafford.

The Spanish champions have done very little to hide their admiration for Ronaldo and Manchester United has become irritated with their continuous ploys to capture the 23-year-old.

Ronaldo, who is being valued as high as 100 million Euros, is set to arrive in Switzerland this week with the Portugal squad and Ferguson is hoping to meet with Ronaldo before he begins his preparations for the Euro 2008.

Portugal coach Felipe Scolari will be relieved Ferguson is meeting with Ronaldo before the tournament begins, rather than disrupting Ronaldo while the tournament is ongoing.

Ronaldo has sent a number of mixed messages to United fans in recent weeks.  He claims he’s happy at United and will remain at Old Trafford as long as Ferguson does, but has also stated his desire to someday play in Spain.

With such uncertainty from their most important player, it is no wonder Ferguson is flying all the way to Switzerland to sort things out with his top goal scorer.

  1. Sir Alex won't be taking any shit. It doesn't matter who you are, if he doesn't think Ronaldo wants to be at United or isn't keeping in line, he'll be gone.

  2. Yeah you might be right. It has after all happened in the past before. But Ronaldo? He's United's best player, and I doubt Ferguson will be willing to let him go so easily.

  3. I totally agree, Fergie wont tolerate this nonsense. whether ur an average player or the FIFA player of the year... if ur not committed, he'll show u the door. I personally dont want any players at United who have another club on mind. Ronaldo should've shown this "interest to play in spain" at 18 & Man Utd wouldn't have wasted their time, energy, effort, money on him. (Its like Karim Benzema... he's said that he wants to play in italy or spain so I would hate it to death if Man Utd got him)

dont get me wrong i admire ron but i admire the club even more, so if he's not committed, get out.

  4. I agree we have had Real Madrid playing the dirty tricks game along with the Spanish media for some time now in trying to lure Ronaldo away, the laughable thing is they are living in the past they got knocked out of the Champuons league they are not in the same league as Man Untd.At the same time I do wonder why Ronaldo didnt open his mouth it only needed for him to say to Real Madrid I am not coming Man Untd is my club and I have a contract to honour also I am very happy so please stop all this rubbish about me.........but he didnt so where are his loyalty he doesnt want to make the same mistake as others have done by thinking they are bigger than the club.

  5. I wonder is he actually wanting to go to Spain(right now) or is he pressuring United to pay him more than anyone else in the world? Maybe Ronaldo thinks that if he is the best player in the world, then we should pay him as one(ie. more than Kaka)

If this is his tactic, its a dirty one and shows no respect to the club or fans. If its not and he actually is thinking about going, and he has his heart set on it, then we have no option. There are only so many times you can ask a player to stay, and Fergie aint the sort to beg.

If he does go, then United should rip Real off, and get £100 million AND another player!! haha! If they want him that bad, make um pay big time!
